Full Tilt Poker and Bots
Full Tilt Poker has recently started cracking the whip on poker bots, in the process of which several player accounts have been frozen. The poker site has also confiscated the funds of players thought to be involved in suspicious activities.
Full Tilt Poker is not the only poker operator to ramp up its security efforts; other online poker sites are also getting increasingly concerned over the issue of poker bots since reports indicate that the number of computer programmers attempting to cheat innocent players with intelligent software is on the rise. The online poker gaming industry was alerted to this issue after the recent PokerStars scandal, in which a gang of Chinese players were found to be involved in a scam
Full Tilt Poker, therefore, has taken a bold move by blocking the accounts of all players suspected of cheating and is now investigating their gaming activities. The poker site has also identified a company that has contributed to the number of bots proliferating. Shanky Technologies is suspected of producing the largest number of poker bots, owing to which poker companies have begun investigating it. Full Tilt Poker has informed reporters and players that it is currently unable to supply more information regarding the issue of poker bots and the players who are suspected to be involved.
Many players are of the opinion that poker bots have always existed, and that poker companies have chosen to ignore the problem until now. But today, the gaming world has changed and top poker sites give first priority to security issues; and, with several poker sites, including Full Tilt Poker, frowning fiercely on cheat, bots, and spammers, one can safely conclude that they will soon be history.
